Documents issued and maintained by the International Organization for Standardization to help guide and standardize various industries, processes, and materials. These cover a huge swath of ground from ISO 8086:2004, which dictates hygiene in dairy processing plants, to ISO 10993:10 which covers medical devices, to ISO 3533:2021; which will one day cover the adult novelty sector as it continues to be filled out.

ISO 3533:2021 - Sex Toys

This document was published in 2021 and is at best a stub. Currently, it contains very little meat and dictates that safe materials and processes should be used without offering any definition of what those might be. This renders it effectively useless as a guiding document. It also offers guidance on what sizes should be called, which is wildly far from what is commonplace in the indie industry.
